InfoWell: Reports The Second European Pipe Show Report (2004 ~ Cuxhaven)

Rolf and his two daughters, Inga and Birte, did a truly Herculean job this Second European Pipe Show. In spite of the Tall Ship Race that was taking place in the city of Cuxhaven the same weekend, Rolf, Inga and Birte made sure no one had a transportation or an accommodation problem. They got out of their way time and time again to make sure the show was successful, and they achieved that noble objective with flying colors.

The show lasted three days, August 13-15, and welcomed almost 100 exhibitors from different countries, European as well as non-European. Most of the well known pipe makers from Denmark and Germany were present; also, there were makers from Italy, Portugal, the USA, Bulgaria, etc. In addition, the show was not in anyway lacking on tobaccos, accessories, and new ideas. There were many retailers from all over the world offering a wide range of products.
The show included a silent auction which was meant to generate some funds for the organization of the show. Also, there was a pipe smoking competition on Sunday afternoon.
Rolf's private house and garden were open every night after the show and for as long as your stamina can go. Food, beer and soft drinks were kindly and generously provided FREE OF CHARGE by Rolf and his family.
